"Derbyville, KY is a mixed media painting. Oil pastels, soft pastels, acrylic, and varnish were made in creating this piece. Being born and raised in Louisville, and attending the Derby events as a young kid and teenager, I always thought how cool it would be if all the LouisvilleĀ Ā legends would be able to hang out together amongst the Louisville locals! Anytime I asked any local Louisvillian what their favorite derby event was, they always say the hot air balloons! So, I included a few balloons from years back and even a few that don't exist, but maybe should which include the Pegasus hot air balloon, and the Belle of Louisville!
