Not That Deep
Some artists plan and plot - getting lost in the minute details to bring their vision to life. Others are like Geran, who don’t.
“I’ve always felt like art is something I naturally need to do, like it’s a purpose that came with my body,” said Geran. “I don’t consider myself to be a deep person.”
Geran credits skateboarding and art-making for helping him ease daily anxieties, harnessing that energy for something productive and good.
“Not That Deep” is a collection of journal entries; a visual diary to process the chaos of life. He depicts cowboys and pop culture icons, flower prints and water towers - images that symbolize durability and determination.
For Geran, the more you do the work, the more you live.
